Special Member Programs

Mastermind Groups

Mastermind Groups bring professional women together to consider a problem faced by one participant at a time. Members of the group then brainstorm solutions. Getting creative, experienced women focussed on you and your business challenge is a great way to gain both accountability and support. Learn how it works[1].

Tina Greenbaum, one of our volunteer Mastermind group leaders, puts it this way: "The power of great minds together is much greater than our individual ability to see many possibilities. It's a priceless experience."

Board Readiness Certification

More than a quarter of Watermark community members say that serving on a corporate board is a long-term career goal. Watermark has partnered with Boardwise, a leader in global governance consulting, to offer a special 8-session certification program[2] designed to make you board-ready.

Why get certified?[3] Says Donna Hamlin, director of Boardwise, “Getting certified not only prepares you for success as a board director – it gives you strategic skills that make you a better executive. And the sooner you do it in your career, the better.”

Watermark's partnership with Boardwise allows us to make this in-depth program available at a fraction of the cost of similar programs. Active membership is required. Cohort limited to 14 members.

What past Boardwise participants say:

The assessment, coaching and simulations have been invaluable in opening my perspective about what more I can do to effectively prepare for a position as a board member.

Ashley Magargee

National Sales Director, Genentech

The Board Access Program offered me both systematic education and personal guidance for my career path. I highly recommend this program to professionals, like me, who are just starting to explore board director roles.

Lyndsey Zhang

CFO, MiaSolé

This program has both helped me structure my thinking about what type of board position fits with my experience, interests and ambitions today, and then developed my relevant brand and board profile to match my ideal fit. I found the board simulation to be incredibly valuable in testing and evolving my thinking and skills to serve as a director.

Yvonne Wassenaar

VP, Office of the CXO, VMware

This program helped me recognize that the biggest thing I needed to do to get ready for board service was to acknowledge that I was ready.

Meg Bear

SVP, Engineering and Operations, SAP Human Experience Management

C-Suite Community

Designed for women who are in VP (or equivalent) positions and above at public or private corporations with over $5M in revenue and 50 or more employees, thesequarterly meetings[4] bring women in similar functions together to talk about current issues and hear from inspiring and knowledgeable speakers.

What C-Suite participants tell us:

I can be myself in this group and know that everyone is 100 percent supportive of my success. This does not exist anywhere else. I cherish this time with my Watermark peers.

I’m often the only senior woman in the room at meetings, and everything I say can be seen as representing my entire gender. In this group I can share real issues in a confidential setting with women who will problem solve with me, often have similar concerns and are there to help me be my best.

We welcome sponsorships of these communities. Please contact Courtney Hehre at courtney@wearewatermark.org for information.

Many thanks to our C-Suite Community host sponsors!
