Donna Hamlin
Founder & CEO, Boardwise

Donna is CEO and Board Director of Boardwise., Inc. as well as Chairperson of Hamlin Harkins, Ltd., a 38 year-old international management consulting firm working with a broad spectrum of domestic and international companies on issues of strategy, market growth and performance improvement. Industries served are wide, including: high technology, retail, professional services, finance and manufacturing spanning 42 countries.

Boardwise, Inc. provides global clients with a combination of professional services and best-in-class software solutions related to corporate governance, including, training, professional certification, director assessment, research, board evaluation and an established first-ever global registry of qualified directors. Clients include a broad range of industries, including global corporations such as ING Bank and an exclusive contract to conduct board evaluations for all publicly listed companies in China.

Founding Boardwise. Inc. as CEO in 2010,Donna took it from start-up to a multinational organization in 3 years. Simultaneously, she continued as Board Chair for Hamlin Harkins, Ltd., which holds a long history of awards for corporate success, including ones from General Electric and the International Communication Association.

In addition to her current board and executive roles, Donna’s board experience includes serving as: Independent Director of Dailypay, Inc, and Aussie-web, Inc and Director for Growth Group, Inc. Prior to these roles, she serves as Director for Interhealth, USA, a leading international provider of nutraceuticals, including chair of the compensation committee; board advisory member for Paramit Corporation, a fast-growing standards-setting electronic contract manufacturer as well as for: CoreBrand, a privately-held advertising and branding firm in New York; Lead-Women, an executive development firm in Malaysia; and Themyscira Institute for Integrative Leadership in Europe and has been as a director for the San Jose Stage Company for 25 years. She also served as advisor to compensation committees for publicly-held companies: Asyst Technologies and Trident Microsystems.

She also served as board director for Commonwealth Central Credit Union, CardioGrade, Inc., Agromac International, and for the non-profit organizations: Girls, Inc, United Way, and the San Jose Ballet.

Donna holds professional governance certifications from National Association of Corporate Directors and Harvard University. She is recognized for her board style as a statesman, with an ability to successfully facilitate robust discussions of issues and integrate directors’ thinking into creative solutions.

Donna holds a Ph.D. in strategic planning from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute(RPI), an M.S. with honors in organizational communication also from RPI, and a B.A. from Siena College.

Nola Masterson
Partner, Boardwise

Nola Masterson, a Boardwise Partner, works with our clients on governance practices and coaches’ directors and aspiring directors. She is an experienced global executive and board leader serving on public company, venture-backed private company and non-profit organization boards. Her career includes successful business experience, with Millipore for eight years and, as CEO and co-founder of Sequenom, (SQNM) and the first analyst in biotechnology on Wall Street with Drexel Burnham Lambert and Merrill Lynch. She has managed her own venture fund, and has been a Venture Partner in a major European IT and life sciences venture fund, TVM Capital. During her 14 years on the Repros Therapeutics (RPRX) Board she advised the CEO on strategy, finance, operations and board recruitment. She served as Chair of the Board for 5 years and as Chair of the Compensation Committee and a member of the audit committee.

Ms. Masterson’s areas of expertise include medical device, pharmaceuticals, scientific tools, separation processes and diagnostics technology as well as genetic analysis. One of Ms Masterson’s key strengths is her understanding of the “DNA” that makes a company great. Her leadership style is as a synthesizer, to create a professional environment that aligns with, and contributes to success at every stage of company development. Ms Masterson is certified by the American College of Corporate Directors as Certified Professional Director, and is listed in Boardwise Registry of Corporate Directors. She has many years of experience in board position recruitment and transition processes, in building productive board cultures and aligning processes and cultures with CEOs and senior executive accountability and measurements.

Ms. Masterson is Managing Director of Science Futures Management Co. LLC and in that positon acts as a lead investor in Portfolia Femtech Fund, an angel fund, dedicated to supporting women early stage investors with education and investments in women focused healthcare companies. She sits on the board of Prime Genomics, Inc. and LynxBio Inc. She is an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco in the graduate school of arts and science teaching biotechnogy entrepreneurship. Ms. Masterson is the co-chair of the San Francisco Chapter of Women Corporate Directors (WCD) and sits on the non-profit board of the American Diabetes Association and is president of the Los Viajeros Riding Club. Her hobbies include horseback riding and oil painting.

Rosa Zeegars
Brand & Business Strategy Consultant

Rosa Zeegers is a seasoned Marketing and Entertainment Executive who led iconic global brands, like KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Barbie, and National Geographic in all continents of the world.

Recently, Rosa founded and is the CEO of ‘BrandFolia LLC’, a brand strategy consulting company. It serves clients like: The Saudi Department of Tourism, London based ‘Extreme International’ (a global destination marketing company) and EdgeSoft Inc., (a software company, launching a startup division around a disruptive product launch)

Additionally, she serves as a Director on the Boards of: the Qiddiya Investment Company, (a Saudi Sports, Arts and Entertainment Company, part of The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030”); EZCORP, (a publicly traded Financial Services Company); EdgeSoft Inc., (a privately held city-government software company); and two non-profit organizations: The AHA Foundation, (Women’s Rights); The Full Story Foundation, (Media).

Rosa is a regular guest speaker at various universities across the country, (Stanford, USC, UC Davis, CSULB), teaching: “Doing Business in Different Cultures”.
