Type R - Transformative Resilience for Thriving in a Turbulent Word with Ama Marston 10-11 A.M. | Wednesday, February 28th

The nature of stress has changed dramatically in recent years. We now live in a world where significant global challenges – including climate change, terrorism and political turmoil – impact us daily, alongside the stresses and strains of our professional and personal lives. This comes atop the pressures we face from the gender stress gap to the gender pay gap to facing greater trade-offs between career and home. Now, more than ever, dealing with stress and challenges is about developing our own ability to learn, grow and innovate – in other words, creating Transformative Resilience. Register for this webinar HERE

Below are the questions we encourage you to share with your colleagues to discuss in association with the webinar.

  1. Ama talked about Transformative Resilience as opposed to resilience. How does this differ from the notion of "bouncing back"?
  2. How does the notion of growing from adversity and using it as an opportunity to grow and innovate apply in your own life?
  3. What is the default response or group mindset of your team or organization when something difficult happens? Is it one of confidence that you can overcome challenges or is it a feeling of doubt and concern as to if you’ll make it through?
  4. Ama talked about 6 Type R skills and characteristics. Are there any of these that you feel you already have strengths in? Which of the skills would you like to further develop?
  5. Can you think of someone in your personal life or professional circles that stands out as being a Type R? How did they turn their challenges into opportunities?
