SAN FRANCISCO, February 26, 2019 – Watermark and Athena today announce a strategic alliance to expand market access and scale impact across California through their combined women’s leadership training.
As California’s leading, member-based organizations dedicated to advancing the careers of professional women, Watermark and Athena have a combined 45 years of providing leadership training, mentoring, and networking to close the gender and pay gap.
This timely partnership will grant Watermark and Athena’s respective member portfolios with reciprocal membership privileges in accessing 100+ annual leadership training programs. By bridging California’s top two influential women’s advocacy groups from San Diego to San Francisco, the multiplier effect will serve the significant talent demands inside these global STEM hubs.
“This collaboration was an epiphany to bring extended value to the members of both Watermark and Athena,” stated Marlene Williamson, Watermark’s CEO and Board Director. “We will further empower our respective communities with access to rich experiences, thought-leading content, and unsurpassed resources to keep moving the dial on gender parity.”
“As companies compete for both talent and customers, they recognize the need to modernize their workforce and board leadership,” said Holly Smithson, Athena’s CEO. “The collective output of this alliance stands to enrich the talent pipeline, expand the power of the networks and provide businesses with an unparalleled talent recruitment platform.”
