Mountain View, Calif. – Aug. 10, 2016 – Watermark invites all qualifying entrepreneurs to apply for The Big Pitch, a new addition to the always sold-out annual Watermark Entrepreneur Conference, set for Thursday, Oct. 6, at Fenwick & West in Mountain View. The conference is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m., with The Big Pitch beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Watermark will select three entrepreneurs to present for five minutes apiece, followed by three-minute Q&A and five minutes of direct feedback from a panel of expert judges including VCs.

The Big Pitch is open to all qualifying entrepreneurs, including Watermark members and non-members. Applications must be completed and submitted by Monday, Aug. 29, 2016 to be considered. Winners will be announced by Tuesday, Sept. 6.

“Every year, our Watermark Entrepreneur Conference provides attendees with new insights and lessons learned from well-established entrepreneurs and investors – and the inspiration they need to pursue their dreams,” says Watermark CEO Marlene Williamson. “And now with The Big Pitch, entrepreneurs can get some hands-on experience and practice in presenting to VCs and receive some helpful, direct feedback. And the rest of our attendees can learn from their presentations, as well.

“Plus, it’s a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas and new brands to some of the Bay Area’s most influential investors, partners and customers. We encourage all entrepreneurs who meet our criteria to apply.”

Longtime Watermark member and winner of the Make Your Mark Award Susan Lucas-Conwell, Chief Innovation Catalyst for Growth Resources, is coordinating The Big Pitch session.

"I'm delighted that Watermark is adding The Big Pitch to its annual Entrepreneur Conference and honored to leading the project,” Lucas-Conwell says. “This is a unique opportunity to listen to three women entrepreneurs present their plans and receive feedback from seasoned investors."
