If you are in an early stage of exploring a board role, the one-hour webinar helps you understand the types of boards, duties and expectations for each and what steps to plan to explore options. California is the first state in the country to mandate female directors on public corporation boards. By December 31, 2019, Senate Bill 826 mandates that each publicly held corporation based in California must have at least one female director on its board and, if no board seats open up before this date on an all-male board, the corporation would need to increase its authorized number of directors and fill a new seat with a woman. This number must increase, depending on the size of the board, by the close of 2021.  Watermark shares Senator Jackson’s view that “gender diversity on corporate boards is associated with increased profitability, performance, governance, innovation, and opportunity.”
