Meet Dr. Miluna Fausch, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Command the Room. A self-described curious person who is "always in training for something," Dr. Miluna's personal experiences with her voice led her to realize that businesspeople could benefit from what she learned about working a room and getting over her own stage fright.
Dr. Miluna brought her passion for empowering women to speak up and find their authentic voice to Watermark when she moved here from Southern California. She joined Watermark eight months ago, before she had even arrived in the Bay Area.
In her #LeadOn workshop How to Be Heard in a World that Interrupts Women, set for Tuesday, June 20, at DLA Piper in Palo Alto, Dr. Miluna will define what a presentation is, explain the four biggest fears that women have in public speaking and presenting, share her own journey of finding her voice despite physical and emotional adversity and discuss her three keys to owning your voice and commanding a room, including costly mistakes that women are making at work.
Her workshop will also cover the feminine versus masculine voice and the masculine energy in the Bay Area, and conclude with laser coaching and group exercises.
"Actually, I don't really define voice as male or female," Dr. Miluna says. "A great voice is a great voice. But what I see women doing is turning into a more masculine or aggressive tone which is completely not in alignment with a woman's grace and power... Strong, bold energy is great – I don't call it male or female."
Curious about Dr. Miluna's own best tips that she follows before speaking or presenting?
1. "I'm always rehearsing and practicing. I always take the time to prepare and give myself every reason to succeed."
2. "I always set my purpose and remind myself why I'm there. I remind myself of the honor of being able to change people through public speaking."
