We all negotiate a variety of issues and items every day. We tend to think of negotiation as a competition with "winners" and "losers," yet lasting success requires a different approach.

A successful negotiation with colleagues, clients, suppliers and vendors – or even with our boss – means both parties not only achieve their goals but build a stronger relationship. Each interaction is an opportunity to build support for our proposals, while developing effective long-term relationships.

In Six Steps to Successful Negotiations, facilitator Ching Valdezco introduces us to a process and skills that will build our confidence and help us foster creative solutions, measurable results and stronger long-term relationships. In this interactive workshop, we’ll create a plan for an upcoming negotiation that we’re preparing for. We’ll use that scenario to help us learn and apply the six steps to a successful negotiation.

As part of Watermark's Lead On Series, we will:

· Learn practical techniques we can immediately apply to our interactions
· Understand the six stages of negotiation
· Identify valuable “currencies” that we can exchange to influence the terms of a negotiation
· Adjust our approach so we can collaborate and be flexible while getting what we need

Have questions in advance for Ching? Or would you like to share with her some negotiation scenarios you face every day at work? Send her an email. She'd love to hear your thoughts!
